Marla is licensed as a PMHNP in the state of Oregon and holds national board certification. While her primary role is evaluation, diagnosis and treatment with psychotropic medications, she believes non-pharmacologic treatment strategies such as psychotherapy, exercise, mindfulness and sleep hygiene are important and will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan. Her practice style draws from humanistic and cognitive therapeutic approaches, including unconditional positive regard and collaborative decision-making.

Marla has worked in the field of mental health since 2011, first as an ABA therapist for children on the autism spectrum, later as a psychiatric nurse and finally as a nurse practitioner. She has a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, BS in Nursing and DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Marla is always expanding and updating her knowledge base with continued education courses, conferences and readings.
